Dawnfolk Gets Steam Deck Verified, New Features, and Steam Community Items!

Turn-based mode, new trading cards, and key improvements arrive in the latest update

March 26, 2025 - Los Angeles, CA - The shadows continue to retreat as Dawnfolk gets a major update! Players can now enjoy the game with full Steam Deck Verified support, unlock Steam Community Items, and take advantage of new turn-based mode and quality-of-life improvements.

 

Steam Community Items are Here!

Since launch, fans have asked for Dawnfolk trading cards—and now they’ve arrived! Not every game gets access to Steam Community Items immediately, but thanks to Dawnfolk’s popularity, it made the cut. Players can now unlock:

 

  • 15 Trading Cards

  • 10 Emoticons

  • 3 Profile Backgrounds

  • 6 Badges (including a foil badge!)

 

New Features, Levels, & Improvements

Darenn’s most recent update also brings a turn-based mode, letting players pause time by default while keeping animations active—perfect for a more methodical city-building experience. 

 

Players can also dive into two new puzzle levels:

  • "Nothingness" - A puzzle that is quite empty.

  • "Mountain Chain" - A curious expedition with way too many mountains.

 

Other key additions include:

 

  • Auto-save every 10 days

  • Puzzle ranks (bronze/silver/gold) now visible in the menu

  • Customizable controller glyphs for Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch

  • Orc camps are now cheaper to fight and more expensive to make peace with

  • Volcanoes can now be destroyed with Miner’s Guild research

  • New UI improvements & keybinding options

 

Additionally, video and sound settings are now separate from Steam Cloud sync, making it easier to play across multiple devices without resetting preferences.

 

Bug Fixes & Adjustments

The update also addresses several community-reported issues, including:

 

  • Fixed market, prayer, and dragon prices not increasing properly in endless mode

  • Fixed orcs moonwalking in fight mini-games

  • Fixed Ark pricing inconsistencies

  • Improved stability and performance in new puzzle levels

  • Plus many more fixes from Discord feedback

 

Now Fully Steam Deck Verified

The update also brings official Steam Deck Verified status, ensuring Dawnfolk plays seamlessly on Valve’s handheld. Whether on PC or portable, players can now enjoy a smooth and optimized experience anywhere.
